The wolf-girl was gone. But there was still a mini-storm of grey fur
leading to what seemed to be a blank wall. Astra glanced at her sister as they shoved the boxes aside. "It's her shedding season." Mel said. "It makes her easy to track." Then she sneezed. "Damnation! Usually we have anti-allergy pills at home!" Mel threw the last box aside and stepped on the spot Anyid had been. The floor simply dropped away. Mel fell...then grabbed the side. He knees clanged against an angled metal tube. "This gets more insane by the second." Astra growled. Mel looked up. "Don't tell Mom but I'm going in." Mel let go and swiftly slid away. "BANZAI!" she screamed as she turned a corner. Astra growled and leapt in. -- Astra tumbled to a stop on a large pile of ugly pink mattresses. It was a brightly lit room of uncertain purpos, with plain stone pillars, some small shelves of books and a large array of weird, metal things all on one side. Light came from several lanterns. They hung from the ceiling on ugly, spider-webbed, rusty chains. The glass of the lanterns were greasy and grimy with multi-colored mold. This provided a surreal lighting landscape for the room. Mel and Anyid were at the metal things, prying loose large bars for weapons. The corroded lanterns made Mel appear green and Anyid appear sand- colored. It would have been pretty if the situation wasn't so dire.
