Blood and Thunder . . .

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 43466

B'Elanna

"Drax appears to have hired him early," Inquirer says softly. "Why? Not sure but not only was Dr. Holly Goodhead his latest victim . . ."

She goes onto explain what she and the group outside had come upon. The beginnings of the taboo they had witnessed had been a meeting between Dr. Goodhead and none other than our target (a young girl who calls herself Miranda DeSilk). Somehow, don't ask me HOW, the young girl named Miranda had seen through Goodhead's cover, and in what I can only figure as a rush of guilty conscious, gone to the CIA operative to spill the beans on what Mr. Drax had planned. Being on the inside the operation (training as one of Mr. Drax astronauts and "breeders" as she termed it), she'd seen things. Things from what we'd overheard in Mr. Drax's bragging after catching the two together (the "betrayal" of DeSilks had surprised him but he'd known about the true allegiance of Goodhead for quiet a while now) pretty much echoed DeSilk's confessions. It had been almost exactly like how things had been shown in the movie (which is kind of disappointing, I'd preferred the book). Only thing here is that the villain's timetables were MUCH more along than what we'd seen in the movie! Now, I'm not privy to just why the Moonraker shuttle, the event that had had been the catalyst for Bond's handlers sending him here, hijacked but whatever the reason, it hadn't been serious enough to slow down Drax master plan. Point in fact, Drax considered Mr. Bond to be only a minor annoyance that he was going to have "taken care of" by an "old friend" of his.

That "friend", at a guess, was Jaws (the indestructible giant). The same man who'd, after Drax had bragged all to the CIA operative, had snapped her neck!

There had been TOO many guards and other Drax personnel about for us to realistically have a chance in Hell at saving the woman, much as I and the Doctor would have LIKED. We could knock out perhaps maybe a fourth of those present, but the rest would have taken issue over that. Made our lives . . . difficult.

And because of that same fact we couldn't do a THING about collecting the ONLY target we have in this reality, Miranda DeSilk!

From what we'd last heard from Mr. Drax before we'd snuck off to regroup (and commed Chiana to bug OUT) back at the TARDIS and plan our next move. Obviously we had to take much more drastic measures now. Blow this whole thing out of the water. Explode it, as it were and not pussyfoot around, trying to hide in the shadows and continue to allow things to run their course until we could quickly and quietly sneak in and out to set things to right (with a minimum of noise).

Now was a time for loud action! Blood and thunder . . .

Of course, like in the movie Jaws has the disturbing tendency to step out from the shadows to interrupt us "good guys" just at the most delicate of moments. He'd taken a short cut whilst we'd been forced to take the long way home, sneaking around in the shadows . . .

  1. Must say the guy can REALLY take it on the chin!!
