More Trouble for Astra

With Belinda in such a fury, Astra could think of only one way of forcing her to hear her own side of the story, though one that she was very reluctant to use. Making use of her greater reach, she landed a powerful right hook on her sister's jaw, intending to knock her unconscious and give her (Astra) a chance to go and fetch some rope from her pack. Once Belinda was securely tied up, she would have no choice but to hear Astra's story.

Whether she would believe it was another matter, of course. The only witness to what had happened was Fred, and it would be a day or so before he would be recovered enough to speak in her defence.

1. Astra got the rope, returned and tied up Belinda. Then she waited for her sister to come round, hoping that she hadn't broken her jaw.
