Safely Making It

Astra stumbled to the floor on the other side. She turned over and looked at her leg. The armor was scored but her limb was fine. She'd escaped being slammed by that much!

Astra decides to rest against the wall for a few minutes. Her heart was pounding and she needed a rest. To her left, the rocks continued falling.

After seven minutes, Astra pushed herself to her feet and continued on down the tunnel. Light stopped coming from randomly placed torches and came from PortalLights (TM). She was impressed. It took a lot of gold to purchase those light-pemerable-only portals that stayed a mile up in the sky to let light through. And to have so many to light what seemed to be random halls...Well of course. The dragon did steal a lot of treasure. But what demented magician would actually do business with the dragon? It wasn't like the dragon could make them himself. Trademark magic was protected by a spell tied into the life force of Gaia herself.

The tunnel opened up into another section. To the left was a small passageway that led to another well-lit tunnel. But ahead...ahead was bizarre. Yet again there were platforms over a deep pit. This area was about a mile wide in circumfence. Dozens upon dozens of floating stone platforms ten feet wide apeice floated over this pit. Each platform made a small whooshing sound as it followed it's own pattern. There was a strong smell of damp rock and dead fish in the air.

Astra realized a nimble person could jump from one platform to another and cross the pit. And yes...over on the far edge was an area with a staircase.

"Is this how the dragon amuses itself?" thought Astra. "Putting it's prisoners through crude obstacles? The warriors of my land could do this in their sleep."

1. Astra decided to go a'leapin' across the platforms.
2. Astra decided to play it safe and take the small passageway to the left.
3. Astra went a'leapin' across the platforms but something really bad happened.
4. Astra pried a large rock off the wall. She tossed it on a far platform. Ever so slowly, it sank out of sight. So Astra jumped on a near platform and rode it downwards.
