De-bilking

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 42836

"Dearie, care to try again?" Walker says softly, smiling (but not) at the man. "Tricorder readings say you're not bein' totally. Try the truth this time, or do you feel like pressin' your bloomin' luck? Risk buying your plot, you are!"

Now, this could have turned VERY ugly if both the Doctor hadn't taken things in hand before they got out of hand (some of the group around that goul, Grunchlk had almost all the characteristics of a lynch mod, really) AND Grunchlk became VERY forthcoming (do believe that that little session was just what the doctor ordered).

....

Okay, bad joke. Sorry.

This brought about several results, who’s impact to some parties was lessened by some of the more gee-whiz medical technology that Zhaan had acquired which she shared with the distraught Diagnosan healer, Tocot. Yes, he lost a lot of stuff in this (what with the others putting a lot of the non-viable types out of their misery via Talyn). However, you do remember what they did in Star Trek, right?

Right! Boy’s not too bad off, now. Might make a good profit in patenting the stuff for “inventing” it.

Tocot might be a bit niave, but he’s just as “human” as the next guy out here in the Uncharted.

Heh.

The Ghoul? Well, not only is he bagged, but a lot of the swag he’d had socked away (from overcharges and such) gets confiscated. After all, the newly arisen will need at least some funds to get back on their feet, eh? Even HE was happy, in the end. Yeah, just happy to have gotten out of their ALIVE!

....

By the way, there are more “viables” now back in the land of the living because of some of that same “gee-whiz” technology from Star Trek. Thought you’d like to know. Alas, only a small handful (Jool and her cousins being the most notable), but still...

There wasn’t much in the way of remains from the blasted Marauder, but Inquirer was able to through various techniques determine that there was a compliment of Sebacians aboard (one of which from the burn uniform Inquirer shows Betty says probably is some one named Braca).

Being that nobody outside of the Farscape universe besides those who’d seen the TV show (either called “Farscape” or “Space Chase”) knew who that chap was, so . . .

Oh well.

Uh, but enough of Scorpy’s body was left to identify him. Brought a few rather nasty smiles to some faces, that fact that he was actually dead (extra crispy).

But puzzling was a human male corpse. Puzzling all around until Inquirer found . . . . an ank?!

“You don’t really think?” Inquirer blinks, looking at the Doctor.

Timelord just shakes his head slightly and sighs, not putting it past that High Lord lunatic to manage a hat trick to get him to this universe (only to utterly fall into the wrong company, being Scorpy and the PK forces do qualify as that).

Well, good enough.

Took a bit of doing, but they say that all things worth doing right take time and patience and all that dren, right?

Right!

So, finally the Champions (either in a Moya transport or outside in spacesuit) collect Talyn (who’s not sure WHAT to make of everything that his friend/father Crais told him). Changed into a block, that is first down, MANY to go!

Being that nobody besides Crichton of Season 4 could come along (TARDIS made strange noises but wouldn’t budge due to Quest restrictions....will explain later if you want), he and the Champions blast off towards a now somewhat familiar wormhole network (as seen in “Unrealized Reality” the TV episode of Farscape). The others await back on Moya.

Not a terribly long wait like last time, this should be for them. This time the return wasn’t tied to something like a man’s recovery. No, only thing they were waiting for was the Champions (with John in tow, being he was the boy with the hum in his head) to return, successful or not!

So....

Deep in the belly of the wormhole, the TARDIS did fly until....

“Thar she blows,” B’Elanna says softly, not really feeling as mirthful when she’d been needling Crichton (who’d been getting VERY frustrated) with whale jokes.

That was a Moya out there, in this distorted region of the wormhole, but unlike the other one they’d just left . . . this one was VERY dead. A burnt out hulk, it was now, with the fused carcass of some OTHER alien vessel lodged within.

“Pathfinders,” Ragan sighed, shaking her head slightly. “That would explain why Moya here . . . this Moya here is here.”

Indeed, it was the jarring impact that made everything go bugfrell there at the end. The Sheyang, who’d been delivering Nerri in exchange for ransom thought betrayal was in the works, and pretty much put to paid to Moya surviving this. What the Pathfinder collission had started, the panicking Sheyangs finished up.

....

It had been a tense moment even up to that point, so it figures that it would go down the drecker, eh?

Irony upon irony, though was WHO got away alive from Moya.

Guy had managed to get the frell out of the Maintenance bay before it went inferno. Managed to get in to the ship ahead of the Sheyang, but damage to the ship sent the craft spinning, marooned not too far (still) from the hulk of Moya. It had life support and supplies, but it had no propulsion!

And who was it?

  1. He looked just like Chiana's. Figures, being that HE didn't get all mixed up from the same thing that had did what it had done to Aeryn-Pip. Yeah, you got it: Nerri!
