Only the Authority were also between universes and Apollo was pissed at having a grenade explode in his face.
The Doctor was available in between sessions of telepathic sex with famous, dead movie stars so he did a bit of mojo on the grenade. It was discovered where it came from and a team went through a transport Door.
There was Swift, a winged lady with far more to her then meets the eyes. Midnighter, like a lunatic version of Batman only a hundred more times powerful. Also Apollo's husband. And finally, the Engineer, who was swathed from head to toe in apparatus-creating liquid metal.
Josh, who had his hand stuck in the garbage disposal, saw them enter and...
