Well, that sneak peak sure helped decide things!

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 42448

John Crichton of the reality where events from the final episode of Farscape called Bad Timing had been playing out until certain someones had interrupted (re: 36744).

Crichton 4 (i.e. the John Crichton of Season 4 of "Farscape")

It's funny the twists and turns my life takes.

After four-plus years of muddling my way through increasingly bad, increasingly weird shit, here I am, on a frickin' space station I'd only before now seen on TV!

Strange enough, that for an episode out of the Twilight Zone. However, what's been happening in the month since being dropped here by the Doctor is-is.... It's worthy of one of the most wack out episode of The Outer Limits!!

Just like I'd remembered from TV, this ol' station is full of political intrigue and excitement. Even with the fact that somehow this Babylon 5 universe has joined up with a Star Trek: TNG (and that's freaky enough let me tell you)! No, it seems that some kind of failed . . . well . . . some kind thing that was sorta like a coupe . . .eh or something happened almost. A bloodless one, but one nonetheless through parliamentary means. Exact details I'm not sure, but it happened here a bit ago on this very station!

Some kind of faction within Starfleet (!) wanted to shift policy that was a step away from what I'd seen on TV for Star Trek to something out of a Heinlien novel. Something more militaristic...

....

Mind you, some of my best friends are from a reality that's....almost straight Starship Troopers (one of Heinlein's most controversial novels)! I'd grown rather close to some of the Roughnecks down in Engineering whilst trying to keep that bucket called the Defiant together and . . .

....

Nevermind! Nevermind! Nevermind. Not important right now....

Seems that the move failed and failed dead cold by some young Ensign named Scott Chen (who himself has some rather odd history I hear). That faction had thought to manipulate the ensign in some fahrbot (or maybe not so crazy) plot to discredit on of the members of the Admiralty that would prove to be a hindrance to gaining total control. A bump in the road in their first step to power or something....

Seems that some Admirals named Janeway (talking about the human one and not the vixen morph...long story....don't ask, multi-verse thing strikes again) had some questions about their legitmacy. Questions on whether or not she was really a real person or a clone of the actual Janeway who'd been zapped to the other side of her galaxy.

Seems strange that the Star Trekkers would discriminate against clones, but . . . . think it has more to do with the idea that if that Janeway WAS a clone, she'd not really attended Star Fleet Academy. Hadn't paided her dues, as it were. Now, hear that questions of such . . . stuff could be gotten around for those of lower rank below Captain. Something like taking a Equivalency test or some dren like that. Then you could move up to Captaincy . . . Admiralty. Not so for this Janeway, I guess....

But there was also something about these clones having come about from Q, who has this . . . odd sense of humor and distain for humans. If Janeway WAS a Q clone, the fear was that she could be some kind of ticking time bomb, ready to blow up in humanities face. . . . somehow.

Run amok? God knows what kind of mischief she could do in her position before stopped....

Hmm.... Maybe that concern isn't so unfounded after all. Sure as Hell wasn't popular with Betty and Ragan, let me tell you. And what that blonde elf named B'Elanna had to say in her rants!!....

Well, the ensign (who'd been a human being but somehow now was a fox morph....don't know the details why, he didn't tell me) tripped them up by giving testimony stating that HE and his ship Voyager (and all the crew, including that ship's captain) were the Q clones. Stopped the faction, he had that way . . . somehow.

Not privy to details, but I at least know the basics from what I got from that fox morph right before he and his wife (both resigned from Star Fleet) departed for parts unknown . . . to get away from the news hounds...

Yeah, media still is a bunch of vulture just like I remember back on MY Earth. Sad to see that some things don't change.

....

Well, some kind of major reshuffling is going on inside the Admiralty of Star Fleet anyway. The human Janeway retired, stating personal reasons (tired of the stress of her office), but....I smell a rat.

Think the reshuffling is to guard against that faction....

Well, don't know.

Whatever the case, I'm glad that Star Trek didn't go . . . down a bad road. Remember that Inquirer said that her universe's regime was trying to shift their ways to doing it the Star Trek way. . . . something about the Asimov equations saying it was the most stable and long lasting...

Well, whatever.

Not like I have any burning desire to live in this or the Star Trek universe.

Given it a lot of thought and I and my wife (yeah, got married! Yeehaw!! Married by Zhaan while aboard the Defiant) will live out our years. Back where we came from? What? Do you think I'm THAT crazy?

Caught rumor from . . . sources about something called Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars. Since it's connected to that show that mirrors my life (weeeird shit, man!) I'd looked into it. No, it's not a new season but some mini-series for a TV channel called the "Scifi Network". Not much, but one thing stood out for me. I go back I might be facing two warring super star powers who want to pick MY mind for the damn wormhole equations!! Chose to run, hide? Chose a side or chose my family?

Nevermind I just found out that the frikin' equations just went tits up in usefulness for wormhole weapons as far as Scorpy wanted (though . . . I seem to recall that Inquirer had hinted that her Military had . . . some kind of wormhole weaponry . . . crude but the only effective kind: kamazi ships). Overwhelm the planetary defense and . . . . Brrr.

Well, uh.....I think she was kidding?

I hope she was kidding....

Note: Inquirer wasn't kidding. The Military, through the resources of tiberium found on Terra Prime, was able to finally construct the "Slammer Ships", bringing a final and bloody end to the Enemy/Alliance War. The Enemy had come up with the idea originally, but neither sides had the energy resources needed to power the overwhelming fleet of suicide robot ships needed for such a thing. Long sad story....best left off for another time.

Right. Whatever.

Back to my bro and those Timelords. See, just met my brother and some big wig Timelords (some folks named Omega and Raslin) tell me that things changed back in my reality. Seems that in addition to saving my and Aeryn's asses, the arrival of Pip the dragon and her friends punched a hole into my universe, causing some kind of bleedover. My universe got . . . mutated....

It's a whoinverse as far as physics go...

Oy! Working equations or not for weapons, there will be people after me if I go back...which won't work because of the changes. Changes that put my equations usefulness put to paid and . . .

No. Traken sounds really nice right now, even IF it's in a strange newly changed universe.... a universe I'm familiar with (someday the Big Crunch) into a steady state universe?! (re: 12114)

Uh . . . whatever. At least Traken will be a real good place to raise a family in peace. Something I'd like, for a change. Tired of running all over the freakin' universe. First by Crais (who's analog last I saw was stomping around like Patton with dynamite up his ASS! He's frantic to return to Talyn). Then by a gimp. Now? Going to have all of the PKs and the Scarrens. No thanks.... Nope, no thanks.

As for the changes back home? Don't know how the Hell they figured that one out (my bro said something about "axiom wash"....gotta get back to him on that stuff).... But . . . I believe them. Want to ask a lot of questions about what my analog from "Season 1" ....

Ah, but that's after I get all the Chianas down to the Infirmary...

See, something up.... Saw it happen with my brother from "Season 1"....sorta like what happened with ME back ol' Moya.

Hint: I believe it was called "Out of Their Minds" if I heard right from Ragan in passing....

....

  1. Holy Disney's Freaky Friday!
