“Oh please don’t be difficult,” Drakenrot urged her. “You know what I
really like?” “Rats?” Amy guessed with a shrug of her shoulders. “Um, yes, I like rats. Very true. But you know what else I like?”“Mice?” Drakenrot looked appalled. “I absolutley despise mice,” he spat, his entire body shuddering. “Deplorable little creatures. They carry all sorts of diseases, you know.”That didn’t make any sense to Amy at all. “Don’t rats carry diseases as well...” “You’re missing the bloody point!”Amy cringed and apologized. Best not to upset the man any further. “What I really like,” Drakenrot continued, “are little girls who aren’t difficult and drink up their green potion like they should.”“Oh please don’t make me do this!” Amy screamed, struggling futilely against her restraints. “I’ll do whatever you want! Just don’t turn me into a rodent!” The rat-master forced the vial to her lips, a wild look in his terrible eyes. “Just drink the potion, Amy! I really don’t want to chop off your fingers. I just cleaned my lab, and it’d be a shame to get it all bloody again.”Fearing the worst, Amy gave in and swallowed the concoction without another protest. It actually tasted quite good. “What was that stuff?” she asked her captor. “Just some stuff left over from one of my experiments,” he said nonchalantly. “I don’t like to waste anything. It actually has nothing to do with your transformation. I just wanted to see you drink it. Very amusing.”What a creep! Amy thought ruefully. “What’s even funnier is that I was already going to chop off your fingers as part of the procedure,” the man cackled, retrieving a wicked looking blade from a corner of his lab. “My maid does all the cleaning around here, you see. So a little blood doesn’t trouble me at all.”“You are a terrible man,” she told him. “Yes, yes,” he relented, “as terrible as they come. Now please don’t struggle while I do this, I want to make clean cuts. The pain will be awful, so it’s going to take some effort on your part.”
