Forebodings of Doom

"What happened?!" Fred demanded. "Dammit woman, talk some sense!"

"I am talkin' sense, it's just your fool head that's too thick to hear it! Something... didn't go right with the Ceremony."

"What... didn't... go... right?" Fred said through gritted teeth.

A small lemur-monkey scampered onto a nearby table. In a voice that sounded remarkably like Tarsa's it said. "The spell placed upon me is much more complex than we originally thought! It must have been cast by a very powerful magician. But do not lose heart, Fred! We have the region's finest clerics here. Surely we will find a way."

The buxom priestess nodded sympathetically. "We're preparing for a second Ceremony. Please come back later this evening."

Somehow Fred found his way back to the inn. Again gossip could be heard.

"I tell ya, this latest crop is the work of Valmar. How are we gonna survive off so little barley?"

"Nevermind that. Did you hear what happened at the Temple? It seems the High Priestess has been ensorcelled yet again!"

"The devil you say! That Geohound protecting her had better get his head outta his arse, before he gets kicked straight out of town!"

After twelve more pints, Fred made his way back to the Temple. He was still at least seventy percent sober, and far better prepared to face the buxom priestess again.

When he got back:

1. Tarsa was back in human form. But now she was extremely hyper and totally incoherent.
2. Tarsa was still a lemur-monkey. The buxom priestess was debating with several others if Tarsa could perform the Ceremony like this or not.
3. Tarsa was missing!
