Astra was torn. On the one hand she did need to earn some money to finance
her journey back to her homeland, and the noblewoman's pass that she had
been given at the border meant that very few jobs would be open to her in
Eramni. Not to mention that Turik was quite right that the thought of
exploring Irios was very intriguing. On the other hand, it would
inevitably mean a substantial delay before she could head for home, when
Turik's news - if true - meant that she could be needed urgently.
"How long do you anticipate this mission taking?" Astra asked Turik. "And can you make it worth my while to go on it?" "If what I've heard from my source is correct, the remains of Ilios are located only about three days journey from the city. I don't know how long the archaeologists will want to spend on their investigations, but I don't intend to stay there more than a week myself. I have too much other business to see to. So we should be back here within two weeks. I will pay you five gold pieces a day if you will come along as my assistant. I think that is very generous."
