The Evil Snowmen

"They're attacking us!" Astra exclaimed. And so they were. Though they had no weapons, they were stretching out their arms as if to embrace Fred and Astra (Velus, being so low down, was comparatively safe). But from the expressions of hate on the snowmen's faces, Fred and Astra were sure that it would not be a friendly embrace. Rather it would be smothering and deadly cold.

Fred got out his sword and Astra dropped into a fighting stance. After all, these creatures were only made out of snow, so surely they should be easy to defeat?

The snowmen were anatomically correct in every detail, so Astra aimed what she hoped would be a disabling kick at the nearest one's groin.

1. She kicked a hole right through it.
2. When her foot made contact, a sensation of unbearable cold ran up her leg, quickly follwed by total numbness. Unable to support herself on only one effective leg, Astra toppled over.
