"Really? You're really going to free me?"
"As we have earned your trust, so you have earned ours," explained the leader of the Fro-Zen Cho-Zen, as he untied her from the palm tree. "You will come back and dine with us sometime, won't you, Mangoe?" asks the second. "As long as you dine with me, not on me," Mangoe replied, with a smile. The leader attempted to remove her collar, which was woven rather exquisitely with palm leaves. "No, thank you," said Mangoe, pushing him away. "I'll keep wearing it. It makes a beautiful necklace, and will remind me of your kindness." "If that is what you desire," said the third Fro-Zen Cho-Zen. Mangoe waved goodbye to her three former captors, and turned around as they waved back. As soon as Mangoe was out of sight, she heard the gleeful cries of the Fro-Zen Cho-Zen. "More for us!" yelled one, although she couldn't tell at that distance which. And that was the end of Violette Miyaki. That was not, however, the end of Mangoe. Finally free for what seemed like the first time on the island, she resolved to become a vegetarian, firstly because she'd felt empathy for many of the animals she'd helped prepare for the Fro-Zen Cho-zen, secondly to save that meat for them, and lastly to try to get rid of all this fat she'd gained as a slave. A week later, she keeps her dinner date with the Fro-Zen Cho-zen.
