To both the witch's and Fred's surprise, the sandwich she offers suddenly
develops legs. It hops out of the witch's hand and runs away. She mutters
something about enchanted bread, and then runs - for want of a better
word - after it. Fred sees the opportunity to use his strength and break
open the cage door, before running as fast as he could from the madwoman.
In his haste to escape, he doesn't bother opening the door and instead
crashes through it. He doesn't stop running until he is around five miles
away. Perhaps it is to be expected that he didn't recognise his surroundings. Not that he was concerned by that at this moment in time. Instead, he thought more about recent events and tried to make sense of them. Not an easy thing to do, as it seems some of his memories of even the more recent events are hazy and incomplete. There was the two entrances where there should have only been one. He took the right passage, towards the water where he finds a floating chest and encounters smugglers. He pretends to be in the service of the dragon, which causes the smugglers to flee. Some warriors of the dragon appear, and he - perhaps foolishly - follows them to the dragon on the pretense of becoming one of his servants. There he meets a female warrior with whom he falls in love. This overrides his better judgement, as he tries to escape with her, getting his neck broken in the process. Then blackness. He comes to in a forest, it appearing that his death was premature and some powerful deities had took it upon themselves to give him some enchancements and a powerful weapon. He manages to wreak revenge on the woman who killed him, as well as killing her fairy companion... He shakes his head. Events after that have seem to have now gone completely. Either that, or his mind is actively blocking them due to their complete absurdity.
