Fred replied, "No, wench, I am not hungry. I do want to get out of this cage, though. It is not very kind of you to keep me confined."

The witch replied, without any malice, "Sorry about that. But as I am going to fatten you up to eat you, I thought that you would try to escape."

"You are going to what?"

"Oh, I know that lean meat is all the rage these days, but I favour a well-marbled knight, done medium rare. You cannot eat healthy all the time; life's too short not to enjoy an indulgence from time to time, don't you think? By the way, do think I should pay the extra money for a bay window to replace the one that you ate? I sometimes thought that would add a nice touch to the front of the house, but some people find it pretentious."
