"I've got some good news, darling," Astra told Fred one day. "I'm
expecting a baby."
"What a coincidence!" Anne said. "So am I! I was just about to tell you." "That's wonderful news!" Fred said. "When are your babies due?" "Mine's due in seven months to the day," Anne replied. "Amazing!" Astra said. "So is mine. I'm afraid that the run-up to the birth is going to be very expensive, though. I'm going to need a new outfit every couple of weeks." "I don't see why you insist on wearing plate armour all the time," Fred responded. "Couldn't you wear ordinary clothes instead, with a bit of stretch in them? Then you wouldn't need nearly so many new outfits." "Certainly not!" Astra said. "I'm a warrior princess. Certain standards have to be maintained, even if it means being weighed down by thirty pounds of plate metal all the time. Bsides, you've got to admit that I look fantastic in it." "I still think that wearing your armour to bed is taking things too far, though," Fred said. "Well, I do take it off on special occasions. Otherwise I couldn't have got pregnant." "Now that Astra and I are expecting, should we all get married?" Anne asked.
