"You know him?" Fred says. "But what's a pirate doing down here in the caves?"

"Apart from sleeping off a bender, you mean?" you say. "Well, let's wake him up and ask him. Maybe he'll have seen the thing."

You shake Dread Pirate Lots, and he wakes up with a start. His hand goes for the cutlass at his belt, before his eyes focus and he recognises you. He relaxes. "Don't do that," he says. "I nearly ran you through."

"Shouldn't you be saying 'Aar, me hearties' or something like that?" Fred asks.

"Typical stereotyping," Lots says grumpily. Then he notices Astra for the first time, and his face brightens. "Who's the wench?" he asks.

You see Astra's face flush with anger, and decide that you had better intervene: "This is the warrior-princess Astra of Aqualaria."

1. Lots wisely says: "Pleased to meet you, Princess."
2. Lots unwisely says: "You're having me on. You've only got to look at her naked body to see that she's a shameless hussy, a trollop, a strumpet, a woman of easy virtue, a lady of the night, a camp follower."
