Astra's glance down came at a fortuitous time as the monstrous hound
charged again - this time into the point of Shen Tso's "sword" (actually a
wickedly sharp dagger more suited to her miniaturized form, as seen in ep
14036). The blade had not been transmuted into the hardened gold material
that Shen Tso & Astra were now composed of - but it penetrated the
animal's exposed throat perfectly well. The second head's eyes rolled
back and it lolled limply to the side. Still, if this affected the demonic creature, it didn't seem to show it any. Even with one head dead and the other lopped off, it pressed its attack. It flung itself at the combined women, knocking them on their back by sheer momentum. Astra held one head at bay, its mouth clamped shut, but the other was snarling and nipping about their head. Shen Tso's knife had gone flying from the impact and she was fending off the monster's snarling maw with her hands. So far, her toughened skin had protected her fairly well, but she could feel the beast's teeth catch here and there - not to same the degree as they had at her belly, but enough to occasionally scrape and puncture her hands and arms.
