The Never Ending Quest - Episode 40678

After reaffirming their platonic love, Josh and Scott continue on down the Staircase. Soon it transforms to a rickety mess over a strange dark gap. Then there is a red brick ledge and an open archway leading to what looks like the flooded open-air deck of what used to be a nightclub. Seems to be a full moon outside. The wind whips plastic plants into the puddles. A small table thumps, pushed by the weather. Hopefully by the weather.
The staircase continues on down, this time buttressed by horizontal steel beams but still a bit of a dark scary mess.

  1. Go up.
  2. Go down.
  3. Investigate the flooded mess.
  4. Josh pulls out a Star Trek paperback and a book light and, while just standing there, starts reading aloud.
  5. Josh's tenth grade teacher, Mr. Applebottom, enters through the arch and asks why the kids made fun of his name.
  6. In the shadows on the brick ledge, behind a moldy curtain, is a rusty water fountain. Scott drinks from it.
  7. Scott sings a rousing song. It's gibberish, but it has an uplifting beat.
  8. Josh realizes he and Scott both have the same color sneakers.
