Sara and Jasper are sitting on a small stage, in the middle of a smoky
bar. They discover this after pushing aside the bright purple curtains
that are behind them. The few people at the tables can barely be seen due to the house lights. Jasper is wearing some army fatigues and banging on bongo drums. Sara has on a black beret, a black sweater and jeans. She is reading some poetry scrawled on notebook paper. It is quite good. The words and the rythym take Scott back to his high school days, when life streched before him like an open road and he hadn't quite amassed so many victimles felonies.
