Haven't We Been Here Before?

Meanwhile Fred had turned bright red, and was trying to cover himself with his hands. "I am Lord Frederigo D'Honaire, but please call me Fred," he replied. "I think this is somewhere within the Southern Caves in the Shreken, but something seems to be wrong with my memory, so I can't be sure. Er, perhaps I could get dressed before we talk any more?"

"Of course," the girl said.

Keeping his back to her, Fred got out of the pool, went over to his equipment, and got dressed. As he did so, the girl climbed out of the pool as well. Trying not to look at her, Fred said: "I'm afraid that most of my clothes and armour would be far too large and heavy for you, but I do have a spare undershirt that might serve you as a dress."

He got the item in question out of his pack and held it out. The girl (who had not yet introduced herself) examined it.

1. "Thank you," she said. "I shall put it on at once."
2. The girl winced. Fred's skills evidently did not extend to laundry or needlework. The undershirt, once presumably white, was now grey and had a number of rips. "Thank you," she said, "but I'm fine as I am."
