Follow the Workers

Fred listens at the trapdoor for the two workers to walk away. He then
carefully lifts the trapdoor and climbs up the ladder. He can see they just
left the control room, so he follows close behind. The two workers
disappear down one of the unexplored lava flow tunnels, and Fred tails them
quietly. About a hundred feet into the tunnel, they both stop at a large
yellow door in the tunnel. They knock three times, wait, and then knock
twice, wait, then knock once. The door opens, and a voice can be heard "Hey
Bob! Barney! how are ya! What is the news from the control room"? The
yellow door slams shut. Fred can hear muffled conversation continuing inside the doorway, but he can't make out what is being said.
