"I can't!" Josh yelled into the reciever. Then he managed to calm down a
little. "I don't know what's happened to the manager. The station appears
deserted and the only body I found was a skeleton of the gift shop owner
who appeared to have part of his head blown off." It was a while before Mike spoke, and he did so slowly, like he was talking to a young child. "Okay. Like I said; everything seems to be fine here. You're obviously still delusional, so I better check things out myself." The phone went dead. Josh did slam the reciever down this time. Now he really wanted to beat some sense into Mike. Such were his feelings that he idly wondered if Mike was related in any way to Scott. Twenty minutes later the phone rang again. It was Mike again. "I'm at the gift shop now," he said. And indeed, Josh could hear voices in the background. "I don't see anything wrong here. Listen, man. I reckon the best place for you is a looney bin. Bye." Josh was more confused than angry now. He had seen what he had seen. He rubbed his eyes. The scene didn't change. He pinched himself and winced. He wasn't hallucinating, either. Those people he had met were real, so had been the skeleton he'd buried.
