Mike

"Mike. I don't where you've been, but there's no-one alive here. From what I've seen, our country is screwed up bad. There's no point coming here, 'cos you don't have a job anymore."
"But that's just plain stupid!" Mike protested. "I live, what, 6 miles from the station. Life is carrying on as normal around here. From what I'm hearing, you're the one screwed up. I don't know what you're doing in the station manager's office, but I do know he's not going to like it if you're still there when he gets back. You'd better leave. I'm going to call back later."

With that, the phone went dead. Josh had to prevent himself from slamming the phone down. He wished for a brief moment about trying to find where this Mike lived and beat some sense into him. Though a small part of him was wondering whether he in fact was the deluded one. No, he finally decided. Mike is. I would love to be there when it finally dawned on him.

1. Josh leaves the station manager's office and continues to look around.
2. He leaves the station and goes elsewhere.
3. The phone rings again. Josh finally wonders why the telephone system is still working.
