Floating Down The River

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 3945

Sir Paulito had gone crazy after he had murdered Lord Fred. Fred had caused the dragon to escape Paulito's killing blow, you see.

Sir Paulito had made a raft and gone down the river. Three hours later he had picked up a man who called himself Sir Huck. He was a noble knight in every sense of the word except for his obsession with wearing a dead chipmunk around his neck. Fortunately the thing was nearly a skeleton and didn't smell so bad. The chimpmunk juice on Huck's shirt though, stank.

So it came to pass that a week later they were still floating down the river. From horizon to horizon was clear flat land. Over on the left one could see the faint outlines of some foothils. Cool, refreshing breezes wated over the meadow grass. They passed a deer who drank calmly from the water.
Sir Paulito was leaning against the lashed down boxes that contained their supplies. Sir Huck was at the front of the raft, dangling his feet in the water. He was, thankfully, downwind.

"Wonder if they're looking for me." said Sir Paulito. "After all, I did kill Fred and I abandoned the mission my king gave me."
"We are a million miles into the wilds of Aqualaria." Sir Huck said as he splashed his feet. "And we're getting farther away every second."
"When you're right, you're right." said Sir Paulito. "I wonder where we will end up? No one's really told the Great Kingdom what is south of Aqularia."
"Well, I for one, heard it ends in a pennisula with a lost city. Very creepy."
"Old wive's tales. Oh well. When the river ends, the river ends. For now let's enjoy the view."

  1. They enjoy the view.
  2. The river dries up, stranding them there.
  3. A black tower shimmers into view smack in the middle of the flat fields. Intrigued, Sir Paulito throws the anchor overboard.
  4. Another hour pass. The fields are still there but they've become filled with incredible amounts of things. Millions and millions of objects of manner and natures!
