The Message

Astra struck a dramatic pose, cleared her throat and declared: "Dear Josh. You forgot to close the door. Love and kisses, Mom." She looked at Josh standing there with puckered lips, and added: "The kisses are metaphorical. She didn't kiss me, and I have no intentions of kissing you!"

"Just as well," Furry Sara quipped. "You're so chaotic, you would probably turn into a frog if a princess kissed you." She paused. "But seriously, Josh! Didn't you leave home six years ago?"

Josh shrugged. "Guess I did. Time flies."

"So you're saying your mother left the door open for six flaming years?!"

1. "Yes, I do. She is kind of loopy, you know."
2. "I didn't say that, Astra did!"
3. "Of course not, this is a secret code that we must unravel to save the universe..."
4. It has indeed been six flaming years. Mrs. Burbank made a habit of burning calendars,
5. Misunderstanding Josh's last remark, Furry Sara grabs a stopwatch and starts timing the flies that buzz around him.
