Finally, he reached the bottom of the stairs, and was facing yet another choice; he had come to a fork in the road. Would he go left or right? The left opening was clearly the one from which the wind was coming. However, the right opening sloped upwards, while the left one went steadily down.

1. He still went with the wind and chose the left tunnel.
2. Upwards was Fred's favourite direction, so he took the right opening.
