Ensign Kim and Lt. Smith walked slowly down their assigned corridor. Kim had always been slightly jealous of the tall, quiet man. He did not have any family or friends back in the Alpha Quadrant. He had joined Starfleet Academy for, according to records, 'something to do'. His lonliness had created many, many problems, but his preivous assignment to the USS Courageous had solved much of his problems. Especially when the Courageous had been kidnapped by aliens in the R-445-032 Galaxy. Circumstances left Smith and a small squad of Ensigns to retake the ship and get home. He had, with no fatallities and thus, R-445-032 had been named after him by the Vulcan Astrological Society. And that was as official as it got. And, then purely by coincidence, all six of Smith's closest friends had been assigned to Voyager when the Courageous had been retired. Smith had his 'family' with him. Kim put aside the wave of nostalgia when they came to the end of the corridor. Turn left or right?
