Fred wasn't quite sure how he got away with sneaking to the girl's brig so much. But he did. And then, even one night, Alexis dozed off in the secret passage itself and Fred and Astra ... um, broke the bedsprings.
Robert became increasingly jerklike.

  1. He betrayed the shenanigans to the crew.
  2. The crew discovered the magical residue from the two wizards they had imprisoned.
  3. The entire ship was a mess of magical energies, due to the one wizard who had killed herself on it a month ago.
  4. Fred had been having a complicated heat-related hallucination for the past few minutes. They were still on the raft.
