Rami's stomach rumbled, making a noise that could have been heard up to
twenty metres away. She might have been tempted to put her vegetarianism
to one side and feed on one of the cattle, except that she had no way of
cooking the meat. In her current hungry state, eating meat didn't seem
quite so bad, nor even killing one of the cows herself, but she knew that
eating raw meat wasn't something that she could bring herself to
do. Perhaps the village would be able to feed her. Three or four large
loaves would at least take the edge off her hunger.
After an hour or so's walking, in which without trying to hurry she had covered fifteen miles (at least there was one advantage to her current size), the village that she was heading for came into view.
