The dragon grasped Rami's ankles with his forepaws and pulled. Just when
she began to fear that her ankles might get dislocated under the strain,
there was an audible "pop" as her hips came free. Fortunately she had
suffered nothing worse than some minor grazes.
"Well, what have we here?" the dragon said in a bass rumble of a voice, as he let go of her ankles. "Turn around and face me." Deciding that disobeying would be unwise, Rami backed out into the cave a little further, until she had enough room to get onto her hands and knees and turn round. She found herself gazing into the unblinking eyes of the dragon at a distance of only a few feet. This was rather unnerving. There was something almost hypnotic about those eyes, which were similar to those of a cat (though of course many times larger). "So what is your name, young giantess?" the dragon asked. "Please, sir, my name is Rami, Rami Gupta. But I'm not a giantess - or at least I wasn't until a few minutes ago." "Explain." So Rami told her strange story in full. Once she had finished, the dragon said:
