Attempted Murder

Fred grinned evilly and snuck up behind Robert, who was checking on the current status of their supplies. Astra and Alexis were not watching. Fred put his hands around Robert's throat and shoved his face over the edge of the boat into the water. Robert splashed and struggled wildly.

Astra and Alexis looked up to see what the fuss was about. "Fred! What the hell are you thinking?" They rushed over and pulled him off Robert. Robert sat up, coughing up water.

All three began to shout at Fred. What had gotten into him? Fred stared at his left hand. He felt it, it was cold and numb. It was not like that before he decided to converse with it. Perhaps it was from sticking Robert's head into the water, but his other one felt normal. I am going mad, he thought to himself.

"Wow," said a very wet Robert, "You're as crazy as me."

"Fred, what is wrong with you? Has being stuck away from civilization for so long been a strain on your sanity?" asked Astra.

"Actually, I think that may be the case," said Fred, "Do you have any rope?"

"Er, yes, we do have a little bit," replied Astra.

"Will you tie my hands? I don't want to do it again," asked Fred.
