Solbert looked at the two statues: the silver statue of a knight carrying
a broadsword and the bronze statue of a Glider reading a book. "These
certainly look as though they are intended to represent the two of you,"
he said. "I have never seen them before. I think that I should have
remembered them if they were there in my time. But it looks as though
there was originally a third statue here, which someone has removed."
"Yes, I forget to mention that when I recounted our story," Fred replied. "It was we who removed it, to take it to show Princess Astra. You see, it was a gold statue of a warrior princess, which seemed as though it must be of her. And she has confirmed that. But it is encased in the same yellowish substance that covers part of the globe, and not even her breathing fire on it could shift it." "I wonder if it indicates that your princess has somehow bonded to the region of the globe that is similarly covered? But why or how that has come about I cannot guess. If I'm right, though, it could have implications concerning undoing the charm and making her a normal human being again. You see, if I could manage that, I don't know what the consequences would be for the young Glider's homeland when the link was broken...
