Brooms

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 37134

Astra had hoped to be able to get right away from the school grounds, if a school was what this place was. But there were too many people hunting for her, and eventually she had to hide in a shed. To her surprise it was full of rather stylised brooms. Surely even the cleaners would not need nearly so many brooms? And anyway these brooms did not look all that suitable for sweeping with.

Then she noticed that each broom had a small nameplate attached to its handle. How odd! Why would a broom be such a valuable possession as to justify that? She picked up a broom at random. Apparently it belonged to someone called Rosie Grant.

  1. "Put me down at once," the broom demanded.
  2. The broom twitched in her grasp, as if it was a living thing. Light dawned on Astra. These must be flying broomsticks and this place was therefore a school to train young witches and warlocks.
  3. Astra suddenly felt a compulsion to sweep the floor of the shed.
