Workaholic?

"Why hello Bethany," sang out Fred cheerfully. "Soda? I got Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Sprite."

"No thanks," replied Bethany tactfully.

Fred sat down in his over- sized chair. He was putting his bare feet up upon the desk when his secretary walked in. She was a real knockout, but looked all business as she read her clipboard. "You've got a 8:30 appointment with your tailor who will dress you up for your 9:15 with the factory managers from China. At 9:45, you go to the hot oil massage with the President of Motorola. 10:15, you are briefed for your 10:30 meeting concerning the upcoming merger. You meet with your attorney for lunch at Dagistino's to sign the mortgage for your house. At 1:35 sharp you take a car downtown to award the sales manager of the year. At 3:30 you're here to take a call from your mother. At 3:35, you meet with the new client from Richmond. At 3:55 you sign letters for your friends. By 4:00 you need to meet the directors to pitch your new product line. 4:45 is your weekly staff meeting. 5:30 you dress black tie for tonight's 6:00 political fundraiser at the Hilton. 7:30 you go to the airport to catch the red-eye to New York. It is now 8:25. I suggest you shave. Do you want me to kick mmmm out?"

"No, no," replied Fred cheerfully. "She can stay. By the way, when do I sleep next?"

"Mmmm, besides the planes," said the secretary looking through the pages on the clipboard, "it looks like Thursday."

"Thursday, I can do that."

"8:26," replied the secretary and walked out.

Fred got up from the desk and staggered over to the bathroom to shave. Bethany quietly followed and stood in the doorway. "Just look at yourself, Fred."

"Eh, what do you mean?" he replied, as he scraped away two days of growth.

Bethany paused, turned, and walked away.

1. Fred calls out after Bethany.
2. Fred continues shaving and starts to sing.
