Amy and Rami Talk

Once the orcs had decided to give the girls to the dragon, two of their number were dispatched to invite the wyrm to their cavern to collect his gift. The rest of them spent their time in the usual orc activities of eating, sleeping and bickering.

Meanwhile Amy and Rami, who were hanging only a few feet apart from one another, were able to have a whispered conversation. Once they had exchanged their stories of how they came to be there, Rami said: "So Liza Maddox is here too! Our only hope seems to be that she will somehow manage to rescue us."

"I'd sooner die than be indebted to her," Amy replied.

"Suit yourself," Rami said, finding it hard to understand how Amy could hate a fellow student quite so much. "As for me, if the Devil himself were to offer me help, then right now I'd take it. You say that you'd sooner die, but for all we know these orcs have something worse than death lined up for us. If they were just going to kill us, they could have done it by now."

Their discussion was brought to at least a temporary close by:

1. Two orcs coming over with bowls of some sort of stew and feeding it to them. Eating upside down proved to be a tricky business.
2. Liza Maddox being brought in. Soon her clothes had been removed and she was hanging from her ankles next to Amy and Rami.
3. The arrival of the dragon to collect his gift. He already had a number of handmaidens, but he could always use a couple more so long as their quality was satisfactory.
