Fred's "Rescue"

"Wait!" Fred gasped. "Don't kill me!"

"Silly Fred!" Scarlett laughed. "The Goddess has no need of blood sacrifices. There is only one gift that she truly treasures - the gift of love..."

Fred's jaw dropped as Scarlett and the other maidens let their robes fall to the floor to stand naked in the flickering torchlight. As one they advanced upon Fred and began carressing every part of his body...

When suddenly the door to the chamber swung open and Constable Simpson strode in purposefully. "Den of perversion!" he growled, lifting his revolver. The naked women screamed in horror and scattered every which way. Constable Simpson fired off a warning shot and they froze. A squad of policemen ran into the chamber to arrest them. Oberon and Scarlett however, were already nowhere in sight.

"So, we've found the infamous Midnight Murderor all too soon." the Constable said, approaching the immobilized Fred. "Did you really think you could hide from Scotland Yard?"

"I didn't kill all those people." Fred said. "You've got to believe me!"

Constable Simpson sighed. "Yes, I rather suspected you didn't kill all of them. Nonetheless, we need you for questioning."

Fred was untied from the altar and prodded out of the chamber by the policemen.

1. Fred is taken to the Tower of London.
2. On the ride over, the carriage is overturned and Fred hears the screams of the dying policemen. Whatever was hunting him has found him at last.
3. Outside, Fred is pushed against the wall and a revolver is put to his head. "Time to make sure you don't mess up our plans any further." growls an inhuman voice.
