Fred knew the key to getting back home lay in unravelling this web of dark
intrigue that threatened to consume his soul. That night, after getting
away from the mob, Fred broke into a clothing store. After defeating the
night watchman he acquired a Victorian-era costume so he would look less
suspicious. Now as the sun rose, Fred prowled the streets of London. He
hunted for answers - to the true nature of the Bloodlust, the mysterious
amulet that seemed to possess his mind, and the origins of the evil
swordsman. Fred did not feel safe, not even with Anna's revolver in his
pocket. Something was hunting him - as surely as he was hunting
it. "Extra, extra! Read all about it!" yelled a young hawker. "Massacre at Midnight! Five dead! Anna Gaines' body stolen from the morgue! Extra, extra! Read all about it!" "Gimme that!" Fred growled, snatching the paper from the lad. "That'll be tuppence, sir!" the boy said, thrusting out his palm. "Tuppence?! It was just one cent yesterday!" The paper went on to say that Anna's body had been stolen from the morgue during the night, and that three morgue employees were dead, drained of their blood and covered with strange large circular wounds. Scotland Yard was actively investigating the case. Fred threw the paper into a garbage bin. So many questions! He rounded a corner and suddenly came face to face with a black-haired young woman clad in a thick woolen robe. She had strangely hypnotic brown eyes. "Please excuse me I almost bumped into you." Fred mumbled. "That's quite allright, Lord Fred." the woman laughed softly. "How did you know my name?" "I know many things. I know you are searching for answers to the demons that plague you." "Yes, but who are you?" "I have many names." the woman smiled and her eyes suddenly seemed to glow as they fixed into Fred's. He found himself unable to move, speak or even breathe. "For now you may call me Scarlet. Come, my Lord. Follow me. You will find the answers that you seek." Fred heard something scuttling across a nearby rooftop. He was being watched. Scarlet remained impassionate, merely turning and motioning for Fred to follow. Suddenly the amulet around Fred's neck came howling into life, forcing him to...
