Dropping in unannounced...

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 36412

Fertal

Bet you, whatever the case, we'll be able to get questions even quicker if we can get Dr. Vincent to just teleport us there! Winging it is fine, but while fast, Vincent's gizmo is faster! Not like I do not like a ride by dragonback (wondrous!), but time saved is time saved!

So....

We talk Vincent into it. He'd go himself but I see he's extremely nervous about leaving his tower, so we (people he's only met) will be a great second choice!

Well, I'll just say that I'm glad we inspire so much trust in Vincent and just thank God for small favors like this. Will do so after we've finished our job.

Need to get out of this done with....

So after we arrive in a clearing in the woods, we walk towards the gates of Wallants.

....

Hm, I'd heard stories about this place, but I'd never expected it to look....so normal.

"At least this time it's not burning," Jarlath mutters, looking at the front gates of Wallants.

Will have to ask him what that was about, sometime. Later.

"Tiamat," Dragon Synizn sighs. "I never wanted to see this place again."

Ah yes, the dragon mage had said he'd made it a habit of avoiding even Walants back on Terra Prime. Brought back bad memories. Being that Demifox Fred and Demifox Astra had similar qualms about that place, that had been no problem until now.

Well, time to get down to business. Being that Dragon Synizn might be confused with his analog of this world, he'd cast a spell to alter his features. Good, considering that he's the one asking (after we do "twenty questions" for entry) where we can find Synizn's place!

A "tip" given to the man who'd met at the gate loosens lips (and quiets any questions about our questions)...

And after avoiding several demifox bands who seem to be looking for somebody (and looking rather upset about something), we end up at a dark but relatively unassuming townhouse.

Synizn mutters something about having passed over this one, wanting something a bit larger and mutters again about "...at least this was the same...." as he mutters a spell that releases the magical barring on he house's entrance.

I only have time enough to notice that he'd changed his disguise yet again, this time to something similar to what he looked before (in his human form). Except this one is heavily bearded and stockier. Later, I'll be told that that was how he looked like when a werebear.

Which is good, once we find ourselves facing some rather muscular "help" sitting at a servant's table....

  1. "Huh?" one asks, confused, looking at our Synizn and then at a flight of stairs leading down.
