Many paces away, Fred lay dying. His internal organs were pulverized by high-pressure jets of water, fired at him by that ungrateful, foppish wretch Winter. I should've trusted Lava Man, Fred thought as he coughed up blood.

Somewhere in the distance, Fred heard a faint yowling noise, as if some irresistibly cute critter was being fiendishly murdered by someone. Seconds later the earthquake started. Only then did Fred understand the full implications of his failure, as the world suddenly stopped spinning and everything was dashed into countless bits of shrapnel and debris...
