With the mischievious instincts of a teenage boy combined with those of a
dog,
Velus decided that it would be fun to give Fred's backside a nip. Fred
yelped
and dropped his shield with a clang. Astra's eyebrows rose at what
the falling shield had revealed. Fred prepared himself for a
bawling out, but Astra just chuckled. "Well, I suppose it's nice to be
appreciated,"
she said. "However this is neither the time nor the place to allow
ourselves to
be distracted. We have a dragon to slay, remember." Fred replied: "Er,
yes, Your Highness. But I'd
be a lot happier if I had a sword as well. Wouldn't it be sensible to
leave the caverns,
re-equip ourselves, and then return? We might even find someone who can
lift the
curse on Velus." Astra answered:
