Sir Fred feigns uncounsciousness to avoid further harm. He could hear the
same swordman that killed the constable, "Die, Ann Gains, die for the
harlot you are!"
Then his sword pludged into her.
Sir Fred remained very still, praying that the swordman would go away. His
eyes were shut, but he could sense the tall man walking around him. His
days were numbered, killing a dragon was much more simple.
He knew that the young woman, he nearly killed for cruelity and sport, was
now dead. How long will he lay in the snow? He was not sure if that man
had departed from the scene or not.
His heart pounded, he did not want to be accused of murder. His knighthood
would be surely be strip from the king.
Why did he resort to this maddness?
Was he loosing his mind?
He in all his life never harmed a woman, a child, or anyone who was
helpless. He felt helpless now. Why did he wanted to harm her? Her body
was cold and lifeless. Who was that swordman? He seemed to know her.
If he moved the swordman would surely kill him the same way. He had to
take the risk, he opened his eyes, the woman's body torn apart, gashes of
from his blade.
On top of her body, was a bronze maybe gold amulet, he glanced at it. He
almost threw up, he could not believe in what the tall swordman had done
to this Victorian woman. The amulet, looked similar to upside down star,
with tiny garnet stone in the center.
His hands were still handcuffed. He was not the master of escape. A knight
was all he was and all he knew to be. Now he questioned himself "I am I
worthy to be a knight? Or do I deserved death?"
He was clueless what he was going to next. Where was the swordman? Will he
try to kill him too?
