The guards, being the stereotypical dumb guards that they are, cannot read
the tombstones. They decide to dig them up and take them to somebody
wiser who can decipher them (they are too arrogant to ask the prisoners
for help).
Almost as soon as the first shovel hits dirt, a ghostly figure appears. It is Lord Fred! "Who dares disturb my bones!" says the ghost.
