Sir Paulito bangs on the lowered gate. "Lord Fred!" he screams. "Lord Fred!"
An archer pops out a nearby slit, an arrow aimed at Paulito's head.
"What the hell do you want?" he growled.
"I want to hang with Lord Fred. I'm bored! Bored silly!"
"Well, Lord Fred's not here. Go 'way."
"When is he coming back?"
"I don't know. Go 'way."
"I'll just wait right here then." Sir Paulito sat on the drawbridge.
"I said, go 'way."
"Oh, jump in a lake." Paulito said. He pulled a Star Trek novel out of his pack (better then nothin') and settled into wait.
"The moat monster'll get ya." growled the archer. In fact, something was bubbling and hissing in the water below Paulito's feet.
What happens now?
