Scott and Josh Go to the Moon

...So they decided to really, really, really etc, get away from it all. They decided a trip to the moon was the best way to do that. There was just a number of small problems, though. Getting there, surviving there, having things to eat, drink, etc. It was hardly likely that the Staircase Room would provide any help in that regard.

They were to be surprised.

A door neither of them knew existed opened silently. It appeared to be a closet of some sort in which there was a generic couple of spacesuits which they both found fitted them perfectly. Okay, that was one thing sorted out. The door closed and then reopened again. The closet had disappeared and in its place was a tunnel lit by white fluorescent lights. They could see a door at the other end so decided to investigate.

The door opened and they entered a small area which what looked like two crash couches. They were puzzled, but decided to clamber on to them and strap themselves in. They felt a slight vibration which they didn't realise but was the tunnel they had walked through retracting. Just then the slight vibration was replaced by a more violent one. They didn't realise it but they were in a huge rocket, there being a lack of a countdown. The vibration was caused by the main engines kicking in.

A hatch in the roof of the Staircase Room tower opened as the rocket took off with a roar the engines belching flame and grey smoke. Five minutes later the nosecone of the rocket had passed through the open hatchway and was making its way towards the moon. Meanwhile Josh and Scott had dozed off.

Thirty minutes later it had left the earth's atmosphere and discarded the first stage. Fortunately for them, the next stage contained their habitation and also a moon buggy for them to transport themselves around.

The seperation and landing of both their module and the habitation module was successful. Josh and Scott woke up soon after.
