An "Almost" Holiday Interrupted?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 33848

Astra 9

Even though I see that the Doctor (might be What, Who, or Which, can’t tell from here) has managed to warn these Royal British Marines of our coming, they STILL look rather . . . jumpy.

Can you blame them, though? Their lands had been invaded by Angar's forces and due to this axiom wash stuff (the Aylse physic coming in and nulling out Core Earth physics, making it's 20th century weaponry and equipment useless in most part) really driving them hard! Now that things have swung back into their favor (things changed to where now both magic and technology work, ala Terra Prime style) while things are chaotic back on Alyse, forces have been mustered up to take up guards at various invasion points on this side of things (and perhaps on the OTHER side as well soon enough).

Being that I and the others just as well would rather get back to Terra Prime and help with things back there (what with the elfin children needing more mentors for their Validation Quest or whatnot), we don't stick around long enough to do much sight seeing. Rather dragged out from the chase, even IF we managed to give them the slip before slipping over that eldritch bridge behind us! Good thing is, that via TARDIS we'll be able to arrive back there in no time at all (time travel), but have enough time (our clock) to at least get a decent night sleep and clean up!! Knowing the Doctor's TARDIS (Dr. Who's, it turns out, Inquirer's husband) will definitely have that (and much more due to some inputs from a certain Klingon female engineer turned elf, B'elanna)! The former Star Fleet Engineer had a knack with adding features....

....

Should be rather straight forward, the next Quests, anyway. That is, we thought that until we learn (later) of certain events (re: 21335, 13248, & 22610), meaning that we have more than just elves to deal with here. See, between us and the Doctor, we've got quiet a bit of mentoring to do with those various new Validation Quests. We'll find out about it later.

With the bare minimum of polite formality, we soon make our way past the Royal Marine's commanding officers and into the TARDIS, done with the latest in a chaotic (but now very satisfying) Validation Quest.

Must say that Artizza 4 and Fertal 4 make a cute set of parents. Dreamwalker is a cute button herself, I might add.

And when it comes time for her Champion Question (if she takes the plunge) her green eyes will turn dark and shadowy just like her parents. That's a guess, you see. Being that Ti'mma (my friend) had been adopted in a similar manner, I'm willing to bet that Dreamwalker is (via Celestrial powers) a blending of her elfin adopted parents genetics.

That's not much news, let me tell you. Nor was it too terribly surprising to me that there was a maternal side to my elfin sister there. See, it's an unexplored corner of her makeup that's something of an outgrowth of her respect (and love) for other folks life. She'd take a life if need be, but not unnecessarily. She'd be doing that in order to protect life. Being that my sisters share so much in common, I know that I myself . . . rather look forward to a little one sooner or later. Preferably later, but when it comes (eventually)....

....

Well, that aside I'm rather glad that Jarlath had been able to make it possible for the new mother to breast feed Dreamwalker. Not like we'd been able to go out to the corner store (like some Earther) and get baby formula, eh?

Goodness, I'm tired. By the looks of Inquirer's group when we enter the TARDIS, they look rather tired still themselves. They'd finished up Chiana's Validation Quest (still must find out how THAT turned out here, soon) and it looked like it been a REAL taxing task. Believe, however, that they'd gone into the very next Quest, irregardless. Originally, they'd thought they'd been slated to help with Fertal 2's and Artizza 2's needs (their Quest). However, when Agent 4 (with Ti'mma and some of the newly returned elfin children doing an opportunity volunteer job to "get in on things") showed up and switched it up. We got that job, much to the proto-Dark Elves surprise. The rest we should know what happened, eh?

Soon, after the TARDIS takes off (towards Nantucket Earth, I'm disappointed to find out), we finally get to meet Sigin's new wife. Hmm, if nothing else this Chiana sure is. . . different.

Hrmph. Well, dragon love being what it is the tough exterior she has hides things inside that are more agreeable (else Sigin wouldn't have fallen for her). That's how it goes, you see. Law of Draconian love and all that.

Going to be interesting in the TARDIS for now, though...

....

Yeah, anyway, we're heading to Nantucket Earth due to Agent 4 saying we would be keen on going there (right afte he'd told the Doctor meeting us where he'd done it would also be a "keen" idea).

Shouldn't be too bad, really. The elves (the newly returned elfin children here and the proto-Dark elves) can get properly married (like they'd been chomping at the bit to do) as tradition and their religious beliefs demand (as well as their elfin hearts). We can even get the local priest to christen Dreamwalker. One of the things that Fertal 4 and Artizza 4 wanted done right in raising her properly did (in their view) include that. When that's done, with my Rank and Office, I can then easily declare Dreamwalker their daughter. All in all, we all agree, this visit should be something of a holiday. Even get to visit the Synizn's (who are visiting friends here in town), we will!

  1. With that thought, we kind of walk into the makings of a madhouse when we land again (after a good rest, thank you)!
