Closer to the water

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 3354

The slaves get closer to the sound of rushing water. The wide tunnel here is supported by well polished wooden beams. There are even a few tiny, framed landscaped paintings.
Twenty feet ahead is a sharp bend. Presumably the water is past that point. But the slaves aren't going to see it just yet as an obstacle had just appeared.
So...what manner of obstacle is it?

  1. A horde of humanoid rat creatures.
  2. An invisible wall.
  3. Vampires, who swiftly take out the gaurds.
  4. A visibile wall. It's been painted to -look- like a continuation of the path.
  5. Spikes. They lower from the ceiling. Then the entire tunnel begins to spin about. Gaurds and slaves are thrown back and forth like children's balls.
  6. A sheet of flame.
  7. A big sign saying to turn back or die of horrible cuts and stabs and other nasty stuff you don't want to think about.
