Light On The Imprisoned

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 3353

The light comes from glowing staff hanging in midair. The room it was in was otherwise unremarkable. It was shaped roughly like a kidney, smelled of sewage and was cold as anything.
The staff was three feet long and had a blue jewel on the end. It was the size of Josh's fist. His left one. (His right one was an inch wider, nobody knew why). The blue jewel was putting out pink light, though. It made for a pleasing view of the otherwise drab walls.
The staff floated horizontally six feet off the ground. Every few seconds it would rotate a few inches.
One of the prisoners opined how the light was the color of his mom's favorite housecoat.
The leader stepped forward and screamed a lot. Then, his psychoses currently under control, he demanded one of the prisoners attempt to grab the staff.

  1. A long haired man tries and is turned to ash.
  2. A bald, barrel-chested prisoner volunteers. He pulls it down with no effect.
  3. A wiry man with a gigantic beard tries and is turned into a woman.
  4. The staff zooms off at the mention of grabbing.
