"I've left you able to speak," the Wizard told Fred and Vela, "as you may need to communicate with each other or with Astra. But when any of the dragon's men are around, be sure only to neigh, Fred, or bray, Vela. Now you should be able to get into the dragon's stables with no problems."

"But how am I supposed to kill the dragon or to free the Princess like this?" Fred objected. "I've no hands with which to use either a weapon or a tool. And why should I want to get into the dragon's stables anyway?"

  1. The Wizard explains.
  2. "If you are going to keep on raising difficulties, then I really shall get angry," the Wizard says testily.
