Josh goes up a staircase yet again

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 32847

Josh goes up the first staircase. This is fortunate for going up any of the other staircases would have led to a thousand years of mortal agony.
This paticular staircases ends up being a simple back and forth. Up one flight, turn, up another flight...fortunately it was decorated well. Red carpet on the walls, various landscapes framed in cheap gold-painted frames, rubber additions to the stairs to take some of the impact off. The railing was cold metal but smooth to the touch. Oddly, each flight's railing was a different color.
Josh went up a full fifty flights before encountering anything different. What was different on the fiftieth flight?

  1. Scott Chen holding a bucket of paint.
  2. Scott Chen's mummified body.
  3. A Terry Pratchett book on the floor. One Josh hadn't read.
  4. Kibo. He was sitting Inidian-style and reading a book about otters.
  5. A flaming torch on the wall. Clear plastic protected the wall's fabric.
  6. A thingamadoodle.
  7. Lots42, frantically typing in yet another NEQ episode.
  8. A bottle of pills and two issues of National Geographic, both featuring tigers.
  9. The Justice League. All deeply asleep. Batman and Hawkwoman snored like loggers.
  10. Doctor Doom. He swiftly offered Josh a position as his lackey. He promised protection from all harm. Doom was known to keep his word...
