They had made fairly good progress across the desert sands. Well-
provisioned with food and water, and
wearing light baggy
clothing that protected them from the sun whilst at the same time keeping
them
reasonably cool, it was a much more pleasant journey than their earlier
one. Or at
least, it would have been, had Fred not still been struggling to adjust to
his
body reconstruction.
Astra thought that they would soon have to stop to rest. Hopefully Fred would be better after he had had some sleep. Then, in the bright moonlight, she saw a cloud of dust ahead of them. A sandstorm? Or was it a group of riders? In either case, the cloud was rapidly approaching.
